To the dude who thought he was ‘driving’ the black Mustang convertible down South Kihei Road: I know that you know the law says you can’t use the phone for texting and calling while driving. But in case you didn’t know, the law also says that you can’t use your phone to film the street ahead while you’re driving. And what part of standing up to get a better view while driving and filming doesn’t seem WRONG? The driver’s seat is for sitting! Oh, and that passenger to your right–how about letting her play movie director next time? That way you can focus on driving and minimize the risk of killing others on the road.

Its dangerous to do but I admit that there are times that I am doing filming. When I get my bendi that will be resolved.

Great cartoon, I thought I had seen everything in LA, but you have nailed a new one. Love it.

We see too much mobile phone use while driving in Australia too – despite the laws and heavy fines.

Humorous indeed, but too bad people are so clueless when it comes to safety.

Awesome drawing. I agree 100% though. People shouldn’t be doing other stuff while driving. They actually said recently, that Driving and Texting, now kills more people than Alcohol does. That’s a shame.

Super art, wish this appeared in LA times, more people might get the message.

Why do some people feel that the rules don’t apply to them here on Maui? When there’s a sign that says “No Trespassing”, “Private Property”, “Do not go beyond this point”,how does that translate to: “Please come in”? and then they get lost, hurt or even killed, and the property owners or the state or county are held liable?
”No using cell phones or other wireless devices or video cameras while operating a vehicle” to: “I’m the only one on the highway”?These rules are in place for a reason; many familes suffer needless losses because the” rules didn’t apply to them”.No one wakes up in the morning thinking “this is the last day of my life, I,m going to die in an accident”, yet there are those out there ready to comply.

That is the bomb!

We saw a lot of that when we visited Maui earlier this year. The overwhelming majority of the population appear to be blissfully unaware of the existence of other people on their planet who might be impacted by their actions. Here in Central Oregon we refer to them as ‘Tourons’ (you can guess which two words were combined there) or ‘cone-lickers’ (so busy looking around and eating ice cream that they routinely wander into traffic.)
