The County of Maui Department of Environmental Management is holding an informational meeting open to the public on Wednesday, Sept. 26 at 6:30pm. The meeting will be held at the Kahului Community Center Meeting Room (275 Uhu St.). The purpose of the meeting is to provide information to the community regarding the proposal of the extension of the existing revetment by an additional 1,200 feet. The Wailuku-Kahului Wastewater Reclamation Facility is located west of Kanaha Beach Park, ocean-side.

There will not be an opportunity to voice concerns or comment on the extension as this is mainly just an informational meeting. But they will be accepting written comments after the meeting until 4:30 pm on Oct. 8. They also have a draft of their Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) available for the public to view, here.
